Family photography is what started my journey
Since 2016 I have photographed families as they grow: first steps, new siblings, grandparents, and everyday connection. Sessions are guided but never stiff: I direct just enough to make everyone comfortable, then let the real moments happen.
Photographs are meant to be lived with
A folder of files is where most sessions stop. Prints, framed wall art, and albums are available with every family session, and I'll help you choose the pieces and sizes that actually suit your walls before anything is ordered.
Albums
Lay-flat pages, linen or leather covers, and a photo inset on the front. Designed as a sequence rather than a dump of favourites, so the session reads like a story your kids can pull off the shelf.
Triptych sets: three frames from one session, hung together as a single piece.
Fine-art prints
Professionally printed and colour-managed on archival paper, so what you hang matches what you approved on screen. Loose, matted, or mounted.
Framed wall art
Sized to the wall, not to the file. Most families under-size their first piece: we'll look at the space together and get the scale right the first time.
Digitals included
Every session still includes high-resolution digital files with personal print rights. Prints and albums are an option, never a requirement.

Studio sessions booked online are paid at checkout: photos within two weeks, usually sooner, one free reschedule with 48 hours notice, and parking details in your confirmation email.

A Langley family photographer who knows these parks
I have been based in Langley since 2016, and most of my family sessions happen within fifteen minutes of the Willoughby studio. That matters more than it sounds. Knowing that the Fort Langley riverfront empties out after six on a July evening, which Campbell Valley trails hold up in a wet October, or that the west field at Derby Reach keeps the light long after the parking lot is in shade, is the difference between a session that flows and one that fights the conditions. You do not have to research locations. Tell me about your family and I will suggest a spot, a time and a backup.
Fort Langley is the most requested. We usually start on Glover Road for the heritage storefronts, walk down to the Fraser River at Marina Park for open sky, and finish under the big trees near the Fort as the light turns warm. Campbell Valley Regional Park, south of Brookswood, gives forest, boardwalk and tall grass in one loop, and the meadows off 16 Avenue go gold from late September. Derby Reach, on the river past Walnut Grove, is my pick for big-sky sunsets and quieter weekends. Williams Park off 238 Street suits toddlers who need a creek to throw rocks in, and Aldergrove Regional Park works for families who want to run.
When the weather turns, or when you want clean, timeless portraits, the studio at 8050 204 Street in Willoughby is minutes from the 200 Street exit off Highway 1. It is where the studio minis, the black and white minis and the Christmas minis happen, and where most extended-family sessions end up because nobody has to stand in the rain.

What to wear
Coordinate, don't match: pick 2–3 soft colours and mix textures. Avoid neon and big logos. Most importantly, dress kids in clothes they feel good in. Comfortable kids photograph beautifully.
When to book
The last two hours before sunset give outdoor sessions their glow. Late spring through October books fastest (fall-colour weekends go first), and winter belongs to the studio. Seasonal minis are announced a few times a year.
Family session questions, answered
A 30-minute studio mini is $295 with 10 finished images. A full studio session is $525 with 20, and an outdoor session is $525 for 75 minutes plus a location fee from $150. Extra images are $25 each, or $150 unlocks the whole gallery.

That's normal, and planned for. Sessions are play-based and guided, not posed rows. I photograph around 1,500 children a year at preschool photo days, and I'm a father of two: wiggly is my specialty.

Studio family and grad sessions happen at 8050 204 St #27, Langley, BC V2Y 0X1, in Willoughby near 204 Street and 80 Avenue, a few minutes from the 200 Street exit off Highway 1. Outdoor sessions meet at a location we pick together.
Free parking right across from unit #27. Enter at Ashbury and Oak, then turn right to find the studio. Open Monday to Saturday, 10:00 to 17:00, by appointment.
