Reception Photo Booth for weddings & celebrations

A real studio booth set up beside your reception: proper lighting, a photographer running it, and up to three 4x6 prints per group handed over on the night.

Every booth photo on this page was made at corporate events: galas, awards nights and expo floors. The booth itself, the lighting and the printing are the same for a reception, but this is a new product for weddings and celebrations, so there are no wedding-night booth photos to show yet.

What a reception photo booth is

A reception photo booth is a staffed studio setup that runs during dinner and dancing. Guests come up in twos, threes or whole tables, a photographer lights and directs each frame, and up to three 4x6 prints per group are printed on site and handed over before they sit back down. Everything shot that night also goes into a private online gallery, uploaded within 72 hours and available for a full year.

It is not a vending machine with a curtain. There is no tablet on a tripod, no plastic props bin and no waiting for someone to figure out the timer. The gear is the same studio kit used for paid portrait work, which is why the prints look like photographs rather than receipts.

Guests leave with a print, not a promise

I own the event printer, so prints happen at the booth rather than in the post.

3 prints

Up to three 4x6 prints per group, printed and handed over on the night. A table of eight that comes up in three little groups leaves with prints for each of them.

72 hours

Every frame from the night goes into a private online gallery within 72 hours, so guests can download their own and you can see the whole room.

One year

The gallery stays online for a full year, which is long enough for the thank-you cards, the anniversary post and the relatives who ask twice.

The kind of frames people keep

Couples, friends and whole tables photographed at the booth: guests rarely get a good photo of themselves at an event, and this is the one they keep.

These frames were made at corporate galas and awards nights, which is where the booth has run so far. Reception bookings are new.

How the booth runs on the night

Set up before guests see the room, busiest between dinner and dancing, packed down without an audience.

BEFORE GUESTS ARRIVE

45 minutes to build the booth in about 3 by 4 metres, on one outlet, somewhere near the party but off the dance floor.

DINNER

Tables come up between courses. This is when the group shots happen, while everyone is still in one place and looking their best.

AFTER THE SPEECHES

The busiest stretch. Prints come off the printer while the next group steps in, so the queue keeps moving and nobody waits around.

LAST HOUR

Late arrivals and the ones who were too shy earlier. Pack down takes another 45 minutes once the booth closes.

Reception photo booth pricing

Four flat prices by duration. Every booking carries the studio kit, the printer, setup and breakdown, with hourly coverage on top, which is why two hours is not half the price of four.

EVERY BOOKING INCLUDES

Studio-grade lighting and professional camera gear
A large backdrop, so the frames look like portraits rather than party snaps
Up to three 4x6 prints per group, printed and handed over on the night
A private online gallery within 72 hours, online for a full year
A gallery styled to match your event, for weddings and branded parties alike
Setup and breakdown: 45 minutes each end, one outlet, about 3 by 4 metres
GOOD TO KNOW
Booking the booth alongside wedding coverage or celebration coverage means one photographer, one contract and one invoice.
Corporate events wanting professional portraits rather than keepsakes want the event headshot booth instead. Same rig, different job, and the files come back differently.
Outside the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley, ask and I will quote the travel with the date.

Reception photo booth questions

How much does a reception photo booth cost?

Flat prices by duration: $1,400 for two hours, $2,000 for four, $2,600 for six and $3,200 for eight, in CAD before GST. Setup and breakdown are not counted as booked hours.

Do guests get prints on the night?

Yes. Up to three 4x6 prints per group, printed at the booth and handed over before they sit back down. I own the event printer, so nothing is posted out later.

Do we get the digital photos too?

Yes. Everything from the night goes into a private online gallery within 72 hours, and it stays online for a full year for downloading and sharing.

How is this different from a headshot booth?

Same rig, different job. The reception booth photographs guests, couples and whole tables as keepsakes with prints on the night. The event headshot booth photographs individuals for professional use and delivers each person a finished headshot. Corporate events usually want that one.

How much space does the booth need?

About 3 by 4 metres and one standard outlet, ideally near the party but off the dance floor. Setup takes 45 minutes before guests arrive and breakdown another 45 once the booth closes.

Can you cover the whole event as well?

Yes, and most people do. One photographer covering the reception and running the booth means one contract, one invoice and one visual style across the night.
