More than the cap-and-gown photo
Graduation portraits mark the moment between one chapter and the next. Sessions are guided from start to finish (expression, posture, angles) so grads who've never done a photoshoot look confident, not posed. Solo portraits, friend groups, and parent-and-grad photos all welcome.
Studio or outdoors
Studio sessions give clean, timeless portraits with controlled lighting. Outdoor sessions add personality: golden-hour light, greenery, and locations that mean something to you. Many grads do both in one session.
Favourite locations
Fort Langley's historic streets and riverfront, Campbell Valley trails, Derby Reach, and the Langley studio. Sessions across the Fraser Valley: Surrey, White Rock, Abbotsford, and Maple Ridge too.
What to wear
Bring 2–3 outfits: something formal, something that feels like you, and the cap and gown if you have it. Solid colours photograph best; wardrobe guidance is included.
Grad portrait questions, answered
Six to eight weeks ahead. May and June fill first with high school grads, and October to November with university convocations. Golden-hour outdoor slots are the first to go, so book early if you want Fort Langley or Campbell Valley at sunset. Read the timing guide.
Yes. Most grads bring the gown for the classic frames and one or two outfits that feel like them. Wardrobe guidance comes with the booking so you arrive knowing what photographs well.
Absolutely. Parent-and-grad portraits and friend groups are built into the session. Tell me who is coming when you book so I can plan the combinations and keep the time on track.
Both work. The Langley studio gives clean, timeless portraits in any weather. Outdoors gives colour and place, usually Fort Langley or a Langley park in the last two hours before sunset. Many grads do a short studio set and then head outside.
We had my daughter’s grad photos done with Volkan and he did a great job! They were exactly what she wanted. The backdrop was perfect for her cap and gown. He was able to fit us in before she needed them for her ceremony.
Grad portraits · Google review, June 2026
We worked with Volkan for both professional headshots and family photos. Nothing felt rushed or overly posed, and the whole session was relaxed and easy, both for me and the kids. The photos feel polished, but still look like us, which is exactly what I wanted!

I love taking my professional photo as well as my family’s with Volcan. We all felt at ease, he managed the whole process and make it really simple and even helped us Choose the best photos. I highly recommend him.
