About fifteen minutes a class, changes included
Two stations run side by side, so one class is at the lights while the next is changing. Solos first while the costume is fresh, then the group photo, then back to the studio. Little ones get the earliest slots and as much patience as they need; competitive teams get longer for the poses they've asked for.
Your teachers keep teaching. I bring the schedule, the backdrop, the lights, and an assistant when the class list warrants one, and your front desk gets a printed running order in advance to hand to parents.

Dance studios
Recital costume portraits, class and troupe groups, competitive team headshots, and audition-ready dance portraits for older students. Ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, lyrical, and Highland all photograph differently, and the pose list is agreed with your teachers before the day.
Gymnastics clubs
Photo day on the floor: individual portraits in competition leo, level and team group photos, beam, bars, and floor shapes on the apparatus, plus coach and staff portraits. Rec classes and competitive streams can run on the same day at different lengths.
Recital and competition coverage is booked separately from photo day, so neither one gets squeezed. Stage work is shot with available light and no flash.
Questions from studio owners & gym managers
Once recital costumes are in the building and before dress rehearsal week: four to six weeks of lead time means galleries open and orders arrive before the recital. Gymnastics clubs usually photograph in the fall, once levels and teams are set.
