Community festivals, concerts and live music, markets, races and civic celebrations. Crowd energy, performers on stage, vendors and the wide establishing frames that sell next year’s tickets and sponsorships. From $600 for the first two hours.
Get an Event QuoteA festival is not a room with a stage. Coverage is planned around the map, the schedule, and the light, not a single vantage point.
Performers, crowd reactions, food lines, kids’ zones, and the wide frames that show scale. Shot on the move across the whole site, from gates open to teardown.
Deliberate coverage of logo placements, banners, activation booths and branded moments, so partners get proof-of-placement images they can actually use.
Recap reels for next year’s promotion, performer clips, and social cutdowns. From $200/hour, quoted to your festival’s requirements.
Canada Day on the Port Moody waterfront, cultural festivals downtown, and the community days in between. Click any photo to see it full size.
The images that matter most are the ones you use twelve months later to sell tickets and pitch sponsors. That means scale, energy, and faces enjoying themselves, not just documentation of who stood where.
GET A QUOTE →Working across the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley.
Stage light is the hard part. Colour washes change between songs, key lights blow out faces, and the headliner never stands still. I work fast glass at high ISO with no flash in the performers’ eyes, and move between the pit, the wings and the back of the room so a set reads like a set rather than six frames from one spot.
The crowd matters as much as the stage: hands up, faces lit by the wash, the merch line and the sponsor banners that paid for the night.
GET A CONCERT QUOTE →Concerts are billed on the same hourly structure as every other event, with a two-hour minimum — usually enough for a support act and a full headline set. Same-week gallery, next-day highlight sets on request for press and promoters.
Start corrals, lead packs, finish-line faces and the expo the day before — covered along the course rather than from one fixed spot.
Before the gates open we go through the site map and the schedule: which stages matter, when the ribbon gets cut, where the sponsor activations sit, and what the mayor’s window is. Big sites get walked in advance so nothing is found for the first time mid-event.
On the day I cover ground continuously rather than parking in one spot, and I work in whatever weather shows up.
The same rate for every kind of event. Coverage is billed by consecutive hours, with a two-hour minimum, and the hourly rate drops the longer the day runs.
One professional photographer, your program and candids covered end to end, edited gallery with full commercial usage rights. The same rate for every kind of event.
The longer the day, the lower the hourly rate. Past eight hours, or for multi-day events, ask for a custom quote.
Highlight reels and social clips alongside photo coverage. Quoted to your event’s requirements.
Where the venue Wi-Fi is dependable, guests get a private gallery of their own photos within minutes of being shot. Well suited to activations, celebrations, and any event where sharing is half the point.
Conferences, galas, product launches and staff parties, shot for your marketing channels.
SEE DETAILS →Ceremonies, getting ready, portraits and receptions — priced by the hour, no packages.
SEE DETAILS →Milestone birthdays, anniversaries, showers and family gatherings, covered without fuss.
SEE DETAILS →"We hired Volkan for our conference and couldn't be happier with our choice! He scouted the location before to make sure he was familiar with the venue, showed up early and prepared, and produced great photos for us."
"He was super professional, brought top of the line gear, and went above and beyond in capturing the photos we were tasked with providing for the client."
"Volkan was professional and provided quality results! Highly recommended for anyone looking to have an event captured."
The first two hours are $600 (the minimum booking), then hours 3&4 are +$225/hour, hours 5&6 +$175/hour, and hours 7&8 +$125/hour, so four hours is $1,050 and eight hours $1,650. See all pricing →
Yes. Each day is quoted on the same hourly structure, and multi-day events usually get a custom quote. Tell me the run dates and daily hours and I’ll put numbers to it.
Yes. Gear is weather-ready and outdoor events in this region rarely get a choice. The only thing that stops a shoot is the organiser cancelling.
Yes, with the instant delivery add-on ($400). Where the venue Wi-Fi is dependable, guests receive a private gallery of their own photos within minutes of being shot.
Yes — festival main stages, theatres, halls and clubs across Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, for promoters, venues and the artists themselves. Coverage runs from the support act through the headline set, plus crowd and sponsor frames. Same $600 first two hours as any other event.
That is the normal way to shoot a concert. Fast lenses and high-ISO bodies mean no flash is fired at the performers, so the photos keep the colour and mood the lighting designer built. Photo-pit rules and three-song limits are no problem — tell me the restrictions in advance.
Send the dates, the site, and the hours you need covered for a quote within one business day.
