Why a black and white mini
Colour dates a photograph. Black and white does not. Taking colour away pulls the eye to what actually matters in a portrait: the expression, the shape of a face, the way light falls across it. It is why the black and white frames from a family session are so often the ones that end up printed large.
The mini runs in the Langley studio at 8050 204 Street in Willoughby: thirty minutes on a classic backdrop, guided the whole way, with the images reviewed on screen before you leave. It suits individuals, couples, siblings and small families, and works especially well for grandparents with grandchildren. We worked with Volkan for both professional headshots and family photos. Nothing felt rushed or overly posed, and the whole session was relaxed and easy, both for me and the kids. The photos feel polished, but still look like us, which is exactly what I wanted!
