Rainy-week backup at the studio
Every session includes high-resolution files with personal print rights. Extra images are $25 each, and the full gallery can be unlocked for $150. Prints, wall art and albums are an option, never a requirement. The same sessions run at the Langley studio.
Guided, not posed. Nobody has to perform.
Arrive five minutes early
Enough to get coats off, hair sorted and everyone breathing before the camera comes up. Buzz in at the door and I will meet you.
Play first, then the frame
I direct just enough to keep things moving: everyone together, the kids on their own, a frame or two of the parents. The rest is real.
What to bring
Coordinated colours rather than matching outfits, clothes the kids feel good in, and a snack for after. Grandparents and the dog are welcome.
Wiggly is fine
I photograph around 1,500 children a year at preschool photo days and I have two of my own. Nobody here expects a toddler to sit still.
Studio or outdoors?
Both are guided the same way. The studio is quick, warm and weatherproof. Outdoors gives you Vancouver in the background.
A large, fully equipped studio near Main Street SkyTrain, formerly the VanArts studio. Light or dark backdrops, seating for grandparents, a change space, and room for a toddler to run a lap between frames.
Weekend dates are offered here, by appointment. It is also the rainy-week backup for every outdoor session.
Queen Elizabeth Park, the Stanley Park seawall, Kitsilano Beach, Jericho and Trout Lake are all options. I will suggest a spot based on your family, the season and the light, and we settle on it together before the day.
Outdoor sessions run 75 minutes, usually in the last two hours before sunset, and carry a location fee from $150.
Studio family sessions
The look you get on a plain backdrop: light or dark, everyone together, then the kids on their own. Click any frame to see it larger.
We worked with Volkan for both professional headshots and family photos. Nothing felt rushed or overly posed, and the whole session was relaxed and easy, both for me and the kids. The photos feel polished, but still look like us, which is exactly what I wanted!
Headshots and family session · Google review, August 2026
We came in for our little one's passport photo as well as family pictures. Volkan made the whole experience so easy and stress-free, especially with a young child! He was patient, warm, and great at capturing natural smiles from the whole family.
Family session · Google review, May 2026
He was patient, thoughtful, and very intuitive with both adults and children, allowing the session to flow effortlessly without feeling rushed or forced. The final photographs beautifully reflected our personalities and the bond we share as a family.

Vancouver family photo questions
Coordinated colours rather than matching outfits. Two or three tones that sit well together, soft solids over busy patterns, and clothes the kids actually like wearing. I send a short guide with your confirmation.
A Family Mini is 30 minutes, a studio session is 60 minutes, and an outdoor session is 75 minutes. Minis are timed to a young child's attention span, which is why they work so well.
Yes, and that is normal, planned-for chaos. Sessions are play-based and guided, not posed rows. Bring a snack and a favourite toy, and we work around naps when we pick the time.
Extended families of ten to twelve fit comfortably, with grandparents seated. For larger reunions, book a full session so there is time for every combination, and tell me the headcount when you enquire.
Yes. Weekend dates are offered at the Vancouver studio, by appointment. Call or use the contact page and I will send you the next available dates.
The studio is on an upper floor of 333 Terminal Avenue with elevator access from the entrance, so no stairs with the stroller. Buzz in at the door and I will meet you. The easiest door to use is in your booking confirmation.
Street parking on Terminal Avenue, or the Impark lot nearby. The studio is also a short walk from Main Street and Science World SkyTrain station.
Yes. The same sessions run at the Langley studio and outdoors at Fort Langley, Campbell Valley and White Rock. Pick whichever is closer to home.
