Every child gets the time they need
There's no conveyor belt. A child who hides behind the teacher at 9am is often beaming by 9:15. The trick is simply not rushing them. Teachers and I work together so each child, including neurodivergent kids, moves at whatever pace feels safe.

Every booking ships with a communication kit: a parent letter that answers the usual questions (what to wear, hair, snacks, sibling requests), a poster for the entrance, and a photo-day storybook to read at circle time so the camera isn't a stranger.

For parents: the night-before checklist
Outfit: pick something your child genuinely likes wearing, since comfort shows up in photos. Gentle colours and soft textures (knits, corduroy, denim) photograph beautifully; even a plain white tee works with the digital backdrops. Save the neon and big graphics for the weekend, and coordinate siblings if they're being photographed together.
Hair: whatever survives a morning of play. A trim that keeps hair out of the eyes helps more than any fancy style; a small clip or headband is welcome.
Breakfast & snacks: think crumb-free: crackers, pretzels, apple slices. Berries, yogurt, and sticky things are best after picture time.
Don't rehearse the smile: practised "cheese" faces go stiff. Real expressions surface on their own, usually mid-giggle.

Some children arrive beaming. Some are quiet, some are silly, some need a minute before they look up. I work with each one at their own pace until the expression on camera is genuinely theirs. That is the photo a parent keeps.
Parents choose from a range, not a single frame
Every child is photographed through several poses and expressions, not one seated shot. All four of these frames are the same little girl, minutes apart, in the same session, including the moment she decided the hat belonged on her head.

A clean backdrop, with the option to change it
Portraits are made on a clean, neutral backdrop that suits any frame or wall. Warm neutral, soft grey, classic blue. In the gallery parents can swap their child’s background to whichever they prefer, without a reshoot.
Graduation portraits, Tri Cities centres included
Preschool and kindergarten grads get the full cap-and-gown treatment. Bring your centre’s own gowns or use mine. Either way every graduate is photographed the same careful way.
Brothers and sisters, photographed together
When siblings attend the same centre in Tri Cities, they are photographed together as well as on their own. Just flag them on your class list and I will pair them up on the day.
